This article is about cosy Autumnal movies and shows.

Here at Mamo & Mono, Autumn is one of our favourite times of the year.

The in-between season, the laid-back middle child and some would argue is the most beautiful season. And, during this time we love watching some of the cosiest films and shows. So, get comfortable, grab your blanket and some popcorn, get snug on the sofa and get ready to view our Autumn Watchlist recommendations. Let your mind take a break from a long day of balancing work and life.

Below is the article ‘The Cosiest Autumnal Watch List for Working Mothers’.

1. Gilmore Girls (Gilmore Girls & Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life), 2000-2007 & 2016

How can there be an Autumnal watchlist without the Gilmore Girls?

Lorelai, Rory and their lives in Stars Hollow are the definition of Autumn. We cannot get enough of this feel-good show (which we have binged more times than we would like to admit). It is full of all your cosy vibes wrapped in lots of witty banter.

2. Matilda, 1996

A classic childhood story adapted into a film. It follows the story of a clever and brilliant young girl called Matilda. This is one of our favourite children’s stories! This film is full of magic, hope and lots of nostalgia. It is a wonderful film to watch with your family, and it will have you all belly laughing!

3. The Twilight Saga, 2008-2012

This broody teen film franchise is perfect to watch on those crisp Autumn nights. Set in a town called Folks, (which is perpetually overcast) is a love story centred around the characters Bella Swan and Edward Cullen. It is full of teenage angst, romance and all things supernatural. Soon you will be so pulled into the intensity of the storyline and be left wondering if you are Team Edward or Team Jacob.

4. Harry Potter (film series), 2001-2011

This family classic is the perfect Autumnal Friday night movie. Hogwarts is the epitome of Autumn with pumpkins, candles and lots of magic! You will soon fall in love with all the characters (if you haven’t already) and the magical world that is Harry Potter.

5. One Day (Netflix), 2024

Get your tissues ready for this one. This 14-episode show on Netflix will take you on an emotional rollercoaster. The show follows two friends, Emma and Dexter over the decades. The show is centred around one date, 15th July, St. Swithin’s Day. This show is gripping and you might find yourself up all night watching all episodes!

6. About Time, 2013

A heartwarming romantic film full of nostalgia. The main character has the ability to travel time, and you get to follow him as he navigates life and all that it brings. It is a beautiful story about love and highlights the importance of enjoying the simple moments in life.

7. Notting Hill, 1999

We consider this film a timeless classic. Set in Notting Hill, it follows the unlikely pairing of a Hollywood Actress and a local Londoner. Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant play their roles perfectly, and you will soon fall in love with their on-screen characters. Best to be watched with a fluffy blanket and hot chocolate in hand.
