This article is about mothers building businesses.
This article is for all the entrepreneurial mothers out there who are trying to build a business whilst raising children.
On this journey, you are going to feel cringe. You are going to feel exposed. You will worry about what others will think.
It may not work for years.
They will likely laugh at you.
You will doubt yourself. Regardless, keep going, keep posting, keep pushing. It does not matter how long it takes.
We will repeat that part again. IT DOES NOT MATTER HOW LONG IT TAKES.
Just don’t stop.
Don’t stop when you see nothing happening, don’t stop after a bad week, don’t stop even when you want to give up. Everything that you are doing is compounding, you just can’t see it.
When you are a mother, the game is different.
You have less time, less sleep and more chaos.
You may not be able to time block; you may not be able to wake up at 5am and you may not be able to be as consistent as those without caring responsibilities.
But what you do have is a vision.
You have no idea how it will work, but you pursue it regardless.
Start now, start small and keep going.
There is no deadline, only progress. And, as your children grow you will find more pockets of time.
One social media post every two weeks is better than nothing. Over the years this will build and you will gain momentum.
You are already doing amazing things.
The fact that you continue to look after your children despite little energy or sleep is nothing short of miraculous. You show up even when you don’t feel your best and you continue to create wonderful childhood memories for your little ones.
And Remember, if you are ever stuck on this journey, trust your gut, because you already know what the next steps are.
You already know where your bottle necks are.
And don’t forget, on this journey you will have to protect your peace.
You may have to say no to others so that you can say yes to yourself. Saying yes to you allows you to conserve the little energy that you have and helps to protect you on this journey. Motherhood demands an enormous amount of time and energy, and at times you may not have surplus to share.
So, do what is best for you and your family.
We hope that this has given you some encouragement on your entrepreneurial journey are a mother.
We would love to hear your comments below.
